This Sunday is the first day of 2017. For many, the new year is a time to make resolutions. No matter what your resolutions are this year, you can probably find a great place in Lakeview to help you keep it. Below are places that can be helpful for some of the most common New Year’s resolutions.
For those looking to stick to a regular exercise routine, there are many gyms and athletic clubs in Lakeview to choose from. We highlighted the features of the Lakeview Athletic Club in a previous blog post. The Lakeview YMCA is also a great option, offering swim lessons, basketball leagues, exercise classes and more.
Many of Wirtz’s Lakeview apartment communities are located near the Lakefront trail as well, giving you easy access to a great bike and walking path.
From Whole Foods to Treasure Island to the neighborhood’s new Mariano’s, Lakeview has some great options for healthy grocery shopping. During the warmer months, you can visit a nearby farmer’s market as well. We featured some of them in a recent blog post.
There are also an abundance of exceptional restaurants in and around Lakeview, including Beezee Fresh Food, Cassava and Left Coast.
Lakeview is home to some of Chicago’s favorite bookstores. The neighborhood is such a hot spot for bookstores that Amazon recently announced that it will be opening up a bookstore at 3443 N Southport. Some local favorites include Unabridged Books, The Gallery Bookstore, and Bookman’s Corner.
Also, don’t forget the Lincoln Belmont Public Library. Located at 1659 W Melrose Street, the library has a large selection of new titles and classics. It also holds book clubs and educational classes. If you need to get a free library club, this web page provides information on getting one in person or online.
