Upcoming Lakeview and Lincoln Park Summer Festivals

This year looks to be no different. For those living in the Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods, there are some great festivals coming up nearby. Below are some highlights.

Lincoln Park Greek Festival – June 2-4

Enjoy Greek food, culture and live music at the Lincoln Park Greek Festival, which takes place Friday, June 2 – Sunday, June 4, on Sheffield between Diversey & Schubert. The festival is free, with food and drink available for purchase. There will also be local vendors selling goods and a kids area.

Ribfest – June 9-11

If you’re a fan of ribs, Ribfest is the place to be. Aside from the impressive amount of ribs available, Ribfest also features live music from a variety of local and touring bands. The “kids square” features live entertainment, games, inflatables and other activities for kids.

Ribfest was voted the best food festival in Chicago last year by Chicago Reader’s “Best of Chicago” reader’s poll. It has also been featured on the Food Network and USA Today. Take Irving Park west of Lakeview a few blocks road to get to Ribfest, which is located along Lincoln Avenue from Irving Park Road to Berteau Ave.

Craft Brews at the Zoo – June 16-17

Lincoln Park Zoo hosts their third annual Craft Brews at the Zoo on June 16 and 17. Enjoy over 75 brews from 35 local and regional breweries. Beer tasting stations are set up throughout the zoo’s gardens.

Craft Brews at the Zoo is a 21 and over event. It takes place from 6-10:30 pm each day. Tickets are expected to sell out and can be purchased in advance here.

Pride Fest – June 17-18. Parade – June 28

The 48th annual Chicago Pride Fest takes place June 17-18 on Halsted Avenue in Lakeview. The Pride Parade takes place Sunday, June 25. It starts on Montrose Avenue and Broadway in Uptown and ends near the intersection of Diversey Parkway and Sheridan Road in Lincoln Park.

The Pride Fest features live music, exhibitions, food and drink. Pride Fest is free to attend, though a donation is requested at the gate. The event is pet-friendly and all-ages are welcome.

Southport Art Festival – July 15-16

Over 75 Chicago artists will be featured at this year’s Southport Art Festival. The festival takes place on Southport Avenue between Waveland and Grace. Along with artist exhibitions, there will also be food and beverages available. Live music can be heard throughout the festival as well.
